COORDINATOR - INTERNATIONAL EPIDEMIOLOGY DATA BASE TO EVALUATE AIDS POSITION DESCRIPTION:

ADVERTISEMENT FOR VACANCY
Specific Responsibilities:
• Maintain communications between participating sites and co-investigators within Tanzania as well as between sites and co-investigators in the East African leDEA Consortium both in East Africa and in the United States.
• Coordinate and conduct Site visits for/with the leDEA PIs and Co-PIs, within Tanzania
• Prepare, submit and track Institutional Research and Ethics Committee (IREG) submissions and general paperwork required by the Tanzanian and US Governments and Indiana University.
• Facilitate the annual East African Data Merger by contacting and coordinating site submission of data
• Assess data quality at institute data quality improvement programs in conjunction with the National AIDS Control
• Programme (NACP) Tanzania and function as liaison between the NACP and other leDEA co-investigators both East African and America.
• Issue monthly reports on Data Quality to the Tanzania National AIDS Control Programme.
• Other duties as assigned.
The Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through the National AIDS Control Programme with support from leDEA is looking to recruit one suitable candidate to fill the following vacant post.
The successful candidate will work under contractual agreement for a period of one year with a possibility of renewal.
Position Title: Coordinator - International Epidemiology Data Base to Evaluate AIDS (leDEA)
Reports to: Head- EpidemiOlogy Unit, NACP
Duties
Under the guidance and supervision of Head Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of NACP, the incumbent will coordinate all leDEA project activities as per specific responsibilities hereunder.

Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology, Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Biostatistics preferred
• Computer and internet literate
• Excellent understanding of data quality issues
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong interest in Research
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly committed on task completion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Age below 45 years
• Citizen of the united Republic of Tanzania
• Minimum of three year’s experience working on database management
• Excellent computer skills.
Work Environment
• Immediate Supervisor, National leDEA PI at National AIDS Control Programme Tanzania
• Accountable to the East African leDEA Regional Co-Principal Investigators and their representatives.
Salary
The post carries competitive package depending on the candidate qualification and work experience. Interested candidate should submit a cover letter with resume CV, including two referees.
